SUMMARY:Time for a Peace Offensive!
DESCRIPTION:Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89846571811 \nJim Garrison\, President of Ubiquity University and cofounder of Humanity Rising\, recently said\, “I believe we are in the most dangerous moment in our lifetime\, certainly since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. The momentum toward war is now seriously escalating and could very easily end up in some kind of nuclear exchange.” \nJim has written a blog post titled: The Pathway to Peace in Ukraine and is planning a series of Summits on Peace Feb 27 – Mar 4\, exploring effective activism in the peace movement that brings us into the New Era.  He has also published a video about the situation in Ukraine. \nDr. Martin Luther King (MLK) said: “Those who love peace must learn to organize as effectively as those who love war.” What if this global crisis can serve as a compelling tipping point – an opportunity to take our collective co-organizing to the next level as a global peace movement? \nWe invite leading peace organizations to come together in unprecedented unified action. Let us begin with a conversation on January 16th to discover how to make this happen as we seed the field for the upcoming Summits. \nIn recognition of the Power of Silence to help end WWII\, we will observe a Global Silent Minute as we call for global cooperation\, peace and freedom.

SUMMARY:Seek and Heal the Causes
DESCRIPTION:Zoom Link https://sine-network.zoom.us/j/89846571811 \nIn the majority of human cultures medicine – physical and spiritual – is focused on stopping the pain of the disease or dis-ease affecting someone. This is a band-aid approach… curing the pain. This applies to individuals and groups. This is temporary relief if you go no further. Dr. King knew this. He knew we needed to seek the causes of racism and work there. As did many other visionary leaders. Some of us have been trained by our elders to dig deeper and expose causes and then work for healing – a more permanent solution. I share an indigenous story to demonstrate this and then share some ways to work in this fashion and discuss the topic with those present. \nJim Graywolf is a shamanic medicine and earth medicine practitioner\, life coach\, spiritual guide\, ceremonialist\, public speaker\, storyteller\, animal communicator/healer\, and creative writer.  jimgraywolfpetruzzi@gmail.com\njimgraywolf.com \n

SUMMARY:Honoring Dr. King’s Dream
DESCRIPTION:Zoom Link: https://sine-network.zoom.us/j/89846571811 \n2023 is the 60th anniversary of the “I Have a Dream”speech from the Lincoln Memorial in 1963.  Tom Williams shares the remarkable story of his honoring Dr. King’s Dream Speech and how that connects to being an empowered citizen\, and how that inspires a Beloved Community. \nThis is a “tale of synergy” about a caring citizen who made history with an unlikely cast of characters to ensure that the speech will be remembered where it took place.  This story links folks from Louisville\, who honored an epiphany that took place in 1958 on the corner of Fourth Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard\, when American Monk Thomas Merton saw the people of Louisville “walking around shining like the sun.” \nTom Williams attended the dedication ceremony in which the historic marker in downtown Louisville was unveiled. This became a dream of Tom Williams that there be the placement at the Lincoln memorial of a plaque commemorating the “I Have a Dream” speech given by Dr. Martin Luther King. \nIn a remarkable irony\, the act of Congress required to make this plaque happen was signed by Strom Thurmond\, who was then the speaker of the house. \nStrom was a staunch opponent of civil rights legislation in the 1950s and 1960s\, Thurmond conducted the longest speaking filibuster ever by a lone senator\, at 24 hours and 18 minutes in length\, in opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1957. \nDr. King said: “If you love your enemies\, you will discover that at the very root of love is the power of redemption.” \n  \n  \nPresenters Name and Email:\nThomas M. Williams\ntom.williams@skofirm.com \nTom Williams is an attorney in Louisville Kentucky. He recommended and helped to advance legislation creating an inscription at the Lincoln memorial for Dr King’s dream speech

SUMMARY:Reverence for Life: Welcoming Ourselves Back Home
DESCRIPTION:ZOOM Link: https://sine-network.zoom.us/j/89846571811 \n“Living systems thinking” is widespread among Original Peoples and was common to our ancestors. Such ways of life embody a reverence for all life\, a feeling of belonging and joyful participation as equals among our plant and animal relatives\, and helped us harmonize with the forces and flows of our world for tens of thousands of generations\, growing local opportunity\, abundance\, and peace. \n \nContemporary evolutionary thinking has converged on these same ancient understandings. Dr. Tamsin Woolley-Barker\, Evolutionary Primatologist and author of Teeming\, shares powerful insights about human nature and the nature of life\, insights that beg for a radical change in everything we do. \nThe movement to re-anchor our designs in the realities of Living Systems is growing. Biological metaphors like Regeneration and Ecosystems are hot\, and the COP15 on Biodiversity even resulted in a profound decision: we will preserve 30% of Earth’s ecosystems by 2030…and those lands can and must include human beings. We are being welcomed back home. This is the time to act boldly. \nHow will we move forward together?\nPresenters Name and Email:\nDr. Tamsin Woolley-Barker\nDrTamsin@DrTamsin.com \nDr. Tamsin Woolley-Barker is an evolutionary primatologist\, biomimicry pioneer\, and the author of TEEMING: How Nature’s Teams Adapt and Thrive\, the defining work on Organizational Biomimicry. \nAn inspiring speaker\, educator\, and consultant known for her evolutionary approach to all things\, Tamsin’s TEEMLabs help leaders of organizations and agents of change “teem” the way all living things do\, to realize the potential of Living Design. \nStay in the loop at TEEMLab.com as the Borrego Institute for Living Design in Borrego Springs opens for stays and retreats and special screenings of the feature-length Australian documentary The Endangered Generation.

SUMMARY:Being Beloved Community
DESCRIPTION:ZOOM Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89846571811 \nIn MLK’s words a Beloved Community is “a community in which everyone is cared for\, absent of poverty\, hunger\, and hate.” \nThis ideal represents what the Indigenous People know as the “Original Instruction” for being humane\, living in unity\, in love and peace. His words inspire generations\, yet our actions do not yet reflect his vision. \n \nParticipant Discussion on why we are not listening and actualizing MLK’s statement: \n“When I speak of love I am not speaking of some sentimental and weak response. I am speaking of that force which all of the great religions have seen as the supreme unifying principle of life. Love is somehow the key that unlocks the door which leads to ultimate reality.” \nParticipants will share their part of manifesting this vision in concrete realistic and practical co-creative solutions\, beyond the inspirational and motivating talk over the years\, since his passing. \n \nBe prepared to voice and describe how to eliminate the obstacles to the oppression of People of Color; and\, include identifying the Root Cause of the lack of love within and among all people. \n  \nPresenter: Patricia Anne Davis\npatricia_anne9@hotmail.com \nPatricia Anne Davis is an Indigenous elder of Choctaw and Dine’ Navajo lineage. \nCurrently\, she is a Trustee at The Center of American Studies at Concord. She is on the International Council of First Nations: Commissioner of Ancient Knowledge and Languages as a Speaker/Member. She is also an NGO Representative of the World Yoga Community to the United Nations. \nShe is an International Educator who is initiated\, trained\, and experienced in facilitating her authentic “Indigenous Ceremonial Change Process’ she designed for Wellness Restoration. It is Cross-cultural\, Inter-generational\, Inclusive\, Universal in practical application\, and can be translated to any language. \nShe is a Whole Systems Designer\, specializing in peace-making leadership who has worked as an Administrator in Health and Human Services for 20 years. She has traveled to ten countries by invitation to teach and facilitate the ICCP that reframes thinking into an Affirmative thinking system for win-win constructive decisions and outcomes. \nKing\, Rev. SUMMARY:Opening Day Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:ZOOM Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89846571811 \nBeloved Friends and Relatives\, \nAs we continue our journey forward from Enlightening Our Way Together you are warmly invited to join us for the MLK Beloved Community Convergence on January 13 -16\, 2023. \nThe Opening Ceremony Celebrating and Honoring Dr. King will be held on January 13\, 12-2 PM EST. We are honored and thankful that a diverse circle of our Human Family will join us with Sacred Prayers and Songs. \nMany of our relatives don’t know that Dr. Martin Luther King was a great freedom fighter for Native Americans and the horrific mistreatment of them by the U.S. government.  Dr. King wrote in his 1963 book “Why We Can’t Wait” which outlined the historical injustices inflicted on Native people: \n“Our nation was born in genocide when it embraced the doctrine that the original American\, the Indian\, was an inferior race. Even before there were large numbers of Negroes on our shores\, the scar of racial hatred had already disfigured colonial society. From the sixteenth century forward\, blood flowed in battles of racial supremacy. We are perhaps the only nation that tried to wipe out its Indigenous population as a matter of national policy. Moreover\, we elevated that tragic experience into a noble crusade. Indeed\, even today\, we have not permitted ourselves to reject or feel remorse for this shameful episode. Our literature\, films\, drama\, and folklore all exalt it.” \nUnfortunately\, these words still ring true to this day in so many respects. Dr. King was a fighter for all of the oppressed of this land. What we’re realizing is that all the cries for freedom and justice are interconnected. They’re all part of the same evolutionary leap that’s needed as we come to grips with these hard times. \nGender rights\, Indigenous rights\, ethnic rights\, animal rights… they’re all part of the same fundamental rethink about relationships to each other and to our planet.  All life on Mother Earth is an ecosystem\, and it could be an ecosystem of generosity\, a virtuous circle. If we improve things at any point we improve them at all points. This is the Vision of the World House that Dr. King said “we must learn somehow to live with each other in peace.”   \nJoin us!\n \n
