Some of us have been trained by our elders to dig deeper and expose causes and then work for healing – a more permanent solution. DESCRIPTION:Zoom Link: https://sine-network.zoom.us/j/89846571811 \n2023 is the 60th anniversary of the “I Have a Dream”speech from the Lincoln Memorial in 1963.  Tom Williams shares the remarkable story of his honoring Dr. King’s Dream Speech and how that connects to being an empowered citizen\, and how that inspires a Beloved Community. \nThis is a “tale of synergy” about a caring citizen who made history with an unlikely cast of characters to ensure that the speech will be remembered where it took place.  This story links folks from Louisville\, who honored an epiphany that took place in 1958 on the corner of Fourth Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard\, when American Monk Thomas Merton saw the people of Louisville “walking around shining like the sun.” \nTom Williams attended the dedication ceremony in which the historic marker in downtown Louisville was unveiled. This became a dream of Tom Williams that there be the placement at the Lincoln memorial of a plaque commemorating the “I Have a Dream” speech given by Dr. Martin Luther King. \nIn a remarkable irony\, the act of Congress required to make this plaque happen was signed by Strom Thurmond\, who was then the speaker of the house. \nStrom was a staunch opponent of civil rights legislation in the 1950s and 1960s\, Thurmond conducted the longest speaking filibuster ever by a lone senator\, at 24 hours and 18 minutes in length\, in opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1957. \nDr. King said: “If you love your enemies\, you will discover that at the very root of love is the power of redemption.” \n  \n  \nPresenters Name and Email:\nThomas M. His words inspire generations\, yet our actions do not yet reflect his vision. \n \nParticipant Discussion on why we are not listening and actualizing MLK’s statement: \n“When I speak of love I am not speaking of some sentimental and weak response. I am speaking of that force which all of the great religions have seen as the supreme unifying principle of life. Love is somehow the key that unlocks the door which leads to ultimate reality.” \nParticipants will share their part of manifesting this vision in concrete realistic and practical co-creative solutions\, beyond the inspirational and motivating talk over the years\, since his passing. \n \nBe prepared to voice and describe how to eliminate the obstacles to the oppression of People of Color; and\, include identifying the Root Cause of the lack of love within and among all people. \n  \nPresenter: Patricia Anne Davis\npatricia_anne9@hotmail.com \nPatricia Anne Davis is an Indigenous elder of Choctaw and Dine’ Navajo lineage. \nCurrently\, she is a Trustee at The Center of American Studies at Concord. She is on the International Council of First Nations: Commissioner of Ancient Knowledge and Languages as a Speaker/Member. She is also an NGO Representative of the World Yoga Community to the United Nations. \nShe is an International Educator who is initiated\, trained\, and experienced in facilitating her authentic “Indigenous Ceremonial Change Process’ she designed for Wellness Restoration. It is Cross-cultural\, Inter-generational\, Inclusive\, Universal in practical application\, and can be translated to any language. \nShe is a Whole Systems Designer\, specializing in peace-making leadership who has worked as an Administrator in Health and Human Services for 20 years. She has traveled to ten countries by invitation to teach and facilitate the ICCP that reframes thinking into an Affirmative thinking system for win-win constructive decisions and outcomes. \nKing\, Rev. DESCRIPTION:ZOOM Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89846571811 \nBeloved Friends and Relatives\, \nAs we continue our journey forward from Enlightening Our Way Together you are warmly invited to join us for the MLK Beloved Community Convergence on January 13 -16\, 2023.  \nThe Opening Ceremony Celebrating and Honoring Dr. King will be held on January 13\, 12-2 PM EST. We are honored and thankful that a diverse circle of our Human Family will join us with Sacred Prayers and Songs.  \nMany of our relatives don’t know that Dr. Martin Luther King was a great freedom fighter for Native Americans and the horrific mistreatment of them by the U.S. government.  Dr. King wrote in his 1963 book “Why We Can’t Wait” which outlined the historical injustices inflicted on Native people:  \n“Our nation was born in genocide when it embraced the doctrine that the original American\, the Indian\, was an inferior race. Even before there were large numbers of Negroes on our shores\, the scar of racial hatred had already disfigured colonial society. From the sixteenth century forward\, blood flowed in battles of racial supremacy. We are perhaps the only nation that tried to wipe out its Indigenous population as a matter of national policy. Moreover\, we elevated that tragic experience into a noble crusade. Indeed\, even today\, we have not permitted ourselves to reject or feel remorse for this shameful episode. Our literature\, films\, drama\, and folklore all exalt it.” \nUnfortunately\, these words still ring true to this day in so many respects. Dr. King was a fighter for all of the oppressed of this land. What we’re realizing is that all the cries for freedom and justice are interconnected. They’re all part of the same evolutionary leap that’s needed as we come to grips with these hard times.  \nGender rights\, Indigenous rights\, ethnic rights\, animal rights… they’re all part of the same fundamental rethink about relationships to each other and to our planet.  All life on Mother Earth is an ecosystem\, and it could be an ecosystem of generosity\, a virtuous circle. If we improve things at any point we improve them at all points. This is the Vision of the World House that Dr. King said “we must learn somehow to live with each other in peace.”   \nJoin us!\n \n
