A Call to Selfless Service
MLK 40 Days of Peace, Selfless Service and Embracing the Power of Love
Can playing games change the world? Can players and teams engage in selfless service and embrace the power of love to make lasting change? Our times call for revolutionary changes that transform and heal a deeply divided world.
Martin Luther King Jr. said: “We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we do that, we will make of this old world a new world, for love is the only way.”
MLK and Mahatma Gandhi both taught that only through nonviolence in thought, word, deed, and how we organize, can we bring on unprecedented, revolutionary change. We are organizing to synergize our impacts, to innovate, and act in unprecedented and unified ways.
For example. in 2012, the Mayors of Louisville and Seattle, as part of the International Campaign for Compassionate Cities, agreed to challenge each other and organized the Compassion Games: Survival of the Kindest. For seven years the Compassion Games has fostered creativity to develop empathy into action while serving more than 20 million people in over 70 countries. The goal of the Compassion Games is fulfillment, not victory. No one can lose the Compassion Games and the more people play, the more people win!

The Compassion Games has now birthed SINE, an alliance and network of members creating Synergized Impacts by playing “Lets Make Waves!” (SINE Waves) as well as other ways to engage to empower each other.
In 2021 we are organizing the MLK 40 Days of Peace Compassion Games with a call to serve one another and embrace the power of love. The themes are Peace, Love, Unity and Diversity.
The games will empower us to experience the values we share, inspire us to act together, find courage in each other, and hope in our solidarity. As we play we will bridge our differences in unprecedented ways.
We will kick off the MLK Weekend of Service with a Global Online Zoom Birthday Celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday Friday, January 15th at 12:00 PM EST (9 AM PST).
The MLK 40 Days of Peace Compassion Games will continue through Sunday, February 28, 2021, including World Interfaith Harmony Week (Feb 1-7).

The call is now, to make our world a more just, safe, and equitable place to live for all members of the Human Family!
In that spirit, we warmly invite you and your community to join us in The MLK 40 Days Of Peace now through February 28th, 2020.

How to Play
There are many ways that individuals and teams can play, from organizing creative service projects to performing acts of kindness. During the MLK 40 Days of Service, all players will receive Agent of Compassion missions offering tangible ideas and inspiration for ways to play.
Players then report and reflect on their activities on the Compassion Report Map. Even though we keep score, no one can lose the Compassion Games: the more people that play, the more people win!
THERE ARE 4 STEPS TO PLAY:

STEP 2.
Organize service projects and inspire acts of kindness to give back to your community! Fulfill “Missions of Compassion” during the annual games, and get ideas from the gallery of Ways to Play to get started!
STEP 3.
After your compassionate actions, report on your activities and outcomes on the Compassion Report Map, capturing the number of volunteers, hours served, monies raised, and people served!
STEP 4.
Share your Compassion Report to elevate compassion in the world and inspire others to play!

SINE: Let’s Make Waves!
SINE (Synergized Impact Network Exchange is a global collaborative community that fuels collective empowerment and unprecedented unified action. The SINE syndicated network amplifies the impact of our alliance member’s initiatives.
SINE will be co-hosting featured events throughout the games. SINE members play Let’s Make Waves and are creating synergy. You can join in on the fun and make waves and be a streamkeeper engaging with others who show up to play!
Befriend the Other
When you “Befriend the Other,” you step beyond your comfort zone to reach out in some way to someone who thinks differently and ask them to be your friend. This action creates harmony in the world and more wholeness in yourself by befriending those who are different from you.
Part of the idea is to bring people together who are different in order to begin to understand these differences. When we do, we also become more cognizant of how much we have in common. And for the effort, the world naturally and immediately becomes less polarized and less divisive.
Deliver Boxes of Love
Let’s End Hunger. Inspired by the Metro United Way of Louisville we invite Players and Teams to pack and deliver “Boxes of Love” containing tasty and nutritious food for families in need.
You can hold a drive at your place of work, your office, social club, place of worship, or neighborhood grocery store, your children’s school, a restaurant or an event such as a birthday party or soccer game. Food drive events can range from one-day activities to month-long events to year-round collections. The time frame and details are up to you.
We will include the annual Souper Bowl food drive that takes place on February 3rd, the NFL Super Bowl Sunday.
#LoveOneAnotherChallenge
WHAT STARTED AS A SONG, WRITTEN BY THE YOUNG TAY DA PRINCE and produced and performed by himself and his iconic uncle, John Legend has transformed into a collaborative music video, documentary film, live performance engagement in schools, prisons and places of worship- a true and dynamic movement of LOVE. A new intention. A purposeful journey of resurrecting LOVE in the hearts and souls of mankind and creation. We want you to be a part. Please Join us.
Led by Tay Da Prince, John Legend, Lou Gossett, Piper Dellums and Rev Sister Jenna, our goal is to reach hundreds of communities worldwide with the sharing of the heart symbol and the simple singing of the chorus- “hey…love one another…love one another…oh yeah”
We ask each leader of spiritual organizations, schools, public facilities, governments, and prisons to capture videos of your #LoveOneAnother challenge.
Peace 0n Earth by 2030
The Empowerment Institute will launch a “Game to Change the World” in September 2020: Peace on Earth by 2030. There are Seven Actions to Create Peace on Earth; one action is a “Critical Mass of DreamKeepers.”
Sign up to be the vanguard of human beings on the planet willing to hold the belief that peace on earth by 2030 is possible and are committed to making this a reality.
If enough of us take this action, within a short time a planetary unitive field will be created of people envisioning and creating peace on earth by 2030. This will cause a new belief to emerge that we can create the world we want! We will create the world we want! It will be! And then watch our collective dream turn into our reality! Who says one person doesn’t make a difference!
